The ISO 9001 standard is a set of requirements for a so-called "quality management system" - an integrated approach to operating a company (or other organisation) with the aim of achieving high customer satisfaction and efficiency. Companies that have successfully implemented an ISO 9001 quality management system may have the functioning of their ISO 9001 quality management system certified; this certification is commonly referred to as "ISO 9001 certification".

ISO 9001:2008 is the current revision of the ISO 9001 standard; it was published in November 2008. However, the ISO 9001 standard gets periodically revised and the next revision is expected to be published in September 2015; it will be called "ISO 9001:2015".

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities. It can also help you to grow while reducing the environmental impact of this growth. An ISO 14001 system provides the framework to allow you to meet increasingly high customer expectations of corporate responsibility as well as legal or regulatory requirements.

ISO 14001:2015 now published

ISO 14001 – ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems, the world’s first international environmental standard has been helping thousands of organisations to improve their environmental, sustainability and operational performance since it was first published as BS 7750 in 1992.

To ensure that ISO 14001 continue to serve organizations and maintain its relevance in today’s market place, the standard has been revised. The new standard addresses the change in environmental practices, and ensures that the management system is future proof.

Companies, organisations and society have a global responsibility to grow without compromising resources for future generations. ISO 14001 was originally written with the environment in mind and that remains the priority for ISO 14001:2015.
